TEEN ACTORS --a headshot session with an 18TPY actress.

If you're a teenage actor or actress then you may be familiar with the term 18TPY.  Otherwise known as 18 to play younger.  Productions companies would rather use an actor to play younger because they save money.  If an actor can play highschool but is actually 18 years and graduated, then the film company doesn't have to pay for a set teacher.  Additionally the actor can work more hours then a minor.  That equates to "saved money".  Business's like to save money and so you can't forget this is show "business".

When I photograph an 18TPY actors headshots, I like to give them some range and show them as high school age and then bump it up a little bit for the adult roles they can play.

Here's a couple of images from a recent headshot session with an 18TPY actress.
