I often work with families who have several kids in the business. When there is more then one child in the family who is acting,  they all need headshots.

It can be expensive to get headshots for two or three kids in one day, but I offer a sibling discount, if all kids are photographed together.  And it can be a bit of work for mom, to get the kids all together, get their wardrobe ready and then spend several hours at the shoot getting the kids headshots.  However...

...spending the time to do three kids headshots on the same day, saves money, because I offer a discount for sibling headshot sessions.  And even though it seems to be a bit of work, it's a lot of fun with the mom or dad and the kids all working together for the same purpose...to get great kids headshots.   And on top of getting each child's individual headshots, we usually do a sibling shot for the agent to use.  These three kids did a recent acting headshot session and it was a great opportunity for the youngest child to learn from her big sisters on being photographed for their acting headshots.

These kids headshots are from a  recent headshot session with three beautiful girls with gorgeous blue eyes and curly hair who are all signed with a top talent agency in Los Angeles.  These are just a few of the headshots from their acting headshot photo session which we did at the studio in North Hollywood.  Mom is thrilled because they not only have new headshots, but she has some great photos for her walls.

This gorgeous child is starting out with modeling and commercials.  So we did a child model headshot photo session to capture both acting headshots and some editorial looks.  She has stunning green eyes that are gorgeous against that sun kissed California tanned skin.

We did 4 wardrobe changes.  Hair and make up is by the fabulous Mariah Nicole. Here are few photos from our acting and modeling photo session.

Lately the industry has been very busy.  Not only do we have pilot season (which is just winding down), we also have so many more networks like Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Youtube Red etc.  This is fabulous news for young actors as there are a lot more audition opportunities.

Since I've been so busy, I haven't had a chance to post much.  But, I've had so many wonderful kids headshot session's lately and, fortunately the weather has been cooperating.   I would love to post all of the kids headshots, or modeling photos that I've recently shot, but there are only so many hours in the day.   I do post on my facebook headshot page and my instagram headshot page as well, so you can view additional children and teen headshots there.  In the meantime here are a couple of the agent choices from Gracie's recent child's headshot photo session:

A great kids commercial headshot with fabulous energy and likeability.  A kids commercial headshot should always have good energy and be very likeable.  The colors in her outfit are also energetic which add to her vibrant and beautiful smile.

Kids headshots usually include commercial shots, theatrical shots for tv & film and personality or character shots which may show you as different types.  The above headshot is a commercial headshot which typically shows fabulous energy and likeability.  Smiles are required for this type of photo.

The headshot below is also a commercial headshot.  Usually an agent will choose 3-6 images for their commercial portfolio or LA Casting profile.  This headshot is a personality or a character kids headshot.

Character child's headshot.

The character child's headshot should show just that...personality and character.  Some agents will use these for Disney or Nickelodeon auditions and such, but typically they are good for commercial auditions.  I just love her smile and sparkling eyes in this character kids headshot.
