A mother called me to inquire about kids headshots and getting her son started as an actor for commercials, modeling and television roles.  Within less then 2 months from that phone call her son is already with a top talent agent and already going out on great auditions!  His headshots are working really well and he is moving forward on his dream as a performer.

what's casting now!

Currently the TV episodic season is casting and casting directors are seeking child actors of all types for roles.  Comedy, drama, dramedy, medical drama's, investigation series, cop shows and the list goes on.  

Some television shows start casting in June, but by Aug, Sept TV casting is in full swing.    This is when they cast co-stars, guest stars and recurring roles for the different televisions shows that are airing. 

There is casting for the kids networks like Disney and Nickelodeon, as well as all of the other shows that you see on the big networks like CBS, NBC etc.  In addition there is Showtime, HBO, Hulu, Netflix and even Amazon has shows that are casting teen and child actors.

Pilot season is here!

The holidays are over and the New Year has started!  Next on the agenda for Hollywood is "Pilot Season".  For those of you who are new to the business, Wikipedia gives a thorough explanation: Pilot Season.  Pilot season is a very exciting time for all actors and this is when many kids and teens get cast as a lead or series regular for a TV show.

As in any business things change and so goes it with Hollywood and pilot season.  Magazines like Deadline Hollywood  or The Hollywood Reporter will keep you abreast of the latest news regarding casting, updates, bookings, which TV shows have been given the green light etc.  When a child or teen actor books a role as a lead or series regular you will see the article in one of these acting trade magazines.  Often they will post a headshot of the actor next to the article.  

In the meantime make sure you or your child has their tools in order and have a current headshot!  Call me when you are ready to schedule @ 323-466-0585.

Recently wrapped a headshot session with a beautiful, aspiring teen actress.  We did the session, chose the shots she should submit to talent agents and then those images had to be retouched.

Once my re-toucher was done with those I emailed her mom the files.  Within two days her mom emailed me back with exciting news--she had was already contacted by two talent agents and both wanted to bring her in for a meeting!   Her mother said the agent loved her headshots.  And that's how you rock it folks!
